No.

In Sony's infinitely finite wisdom, Sony decided to make their 4k media player only compatible with Sony 4k projectors. As usual, Sony has found the perfect formula to result in their media player being obsolete almost immediately.

I've used the player and it kind of sucks too. There are not many titles and it performs similarly to early HD-DVD players. Lots of rebooting that takes lots of time, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...

Maybe if you copied the EDID from a Sony 4k projector and used an EDID emulator the player would work. I really don't know though if anything can be done to trick the player. There aren't any 4k EDID emulators out yet either (that I am aware of).

I just sent Jim at Lumagen an email about this... you have me thinking. Maybe when the Lumagen 4k input processors come out they could have a custom EDID option to emulate a Sony 4k projector. I'll let you know what Jim says.

Got this back from Jim...

Quote:
We do not know for sure, but I have it on good authority from Sony that the player will not work going through any other device. We are conjecturing that they are using a different encryption method.

So while we don’t know for sure it is not likely it could be made to work through a Radiance.
