Ok I have a samsung dlp tv that I got from a yard sale for 10 bucks its a nice set and I enjoy it(no I am not replacing until I have to)
Now the reason I got it so cheap was due to the dlp chip needing replacing
So I called samsung and found out it was covered under the dlp chip warrenty extension   man was I happy when I heard it would get fixed for free
Now my issue is that the set just shut off while I was playing a game on it(no fans or lights nada)
Odd thing is I turned it back on and it still works
What I need to know is what caused it to shut off
I have had it for close to 3 years I think(not sure) and when I was in the service menu it showed the lamp having 6000+ hours
So is this a sign the lamp is failing or is it something else??
Other then that it hasn't had a issue
I don't want to give it up as it has a nice pic and its efficient on electricity compared to a plasma
The model is
HLS4266WX/XAA

I had to before the service guy could even work on it
It was filthy inside when I cleaned but it is due for one soon as I have decided to clean it every year
I didn't see any socketed chips anywhere in the set but I didn't have much time to look when the service guy was working on it
I don't think it has any bad caps but who knows its a 03 model 
I figured it would need a new lamp soon kinda surprised it still gives as good a picture as it does for the amount of hours on the lamp but since I didn't pay much for it I will get a new lamp soon from samsung as I seen online about cheap knock off bulbs not lasting(go figure)some even taking out the ballast with it
