I was wondering if anyone could help with how to increase the H-Sync only on a Radiance mini?

Nash has told me that the issue with squiggly lines I am having could be coming from and H Sync below 1uS. So if 1uS is 1MHz like I believe what would I have to input in the H Sync field? What unit of measurement are the values in the Lumagen's custom menu? As I believe this is where I need to perform this operation.

Nash said that the procedure might have changed from the older Lumagen's and because he uses the TV One blending units in his blend he is not familiar with the new procedure.

I did look in the manual but did not see anything regarding sync adjustment other the polarity.

Does anyone have any help they would like to provide?

James

Ok I found out you have to input the clock rate and figure that out using a calculator. not sure which one, but I am not sure if that guarantees that the number you input will increase H sync to be over 1us.

I have Craigs clock calculator spreadsheet that I just found.

I think I might be up the creek though as I have a Moome-EXT. I do not think it will deal with odd ball refresh rates too well. I am running 1080P 60Hz at the moment. I don't think the mini will do 1080P 72Hz either. So I might have to drop to a different resolution (Not something I am keen on after all the mods that I have done to clean up the resolution) and run a higher refresh that way like 720P@72Hz or what was that other one?

I think the minis will do higher clock rates. that is why they never made a + version I think it was never advertised but I think Don is runing his that way.

I have run 1080p@72 to a moome external from my Tv-Ones.

Also for scope run 800p@72

Change the following in your Radiance custom output timings:

Hfront 125
Hsync 125

If you just change those two you won't even need to calculate a higher clock as they will still fall in the default 1126x2200 total pixels. After you adjust the above, go back into the Marquee and adjust centering, phase, and blanking on the left and right.

The Mini can be set to clocks slightly above 150MHz, but I don't remember the limit.

I am sending you a PM as well.

Hold on here a second. Are you guys saying the mini does 72Hz816p now? Then I'm getting one for sure because that's an affordable and reasonable price. I want it for the CMS feature and all that. Now, if someone is using it that way then please tell me more about it.

Yes, of course the Mini supports 816x1920 72Hz now.

...on a side, don't forget that the Mini can be ordered with a 3-pin mini-din plug that supports 3D output for IR transmitters. The Mini and 20xx are the only units that have it right now.

Increase those numbers by 5 a few times till you the Squiggles are gone. Also try leaving the front as is and only raise the H sync.
I forgot how I got them to leave , But I was using the Tv-One but it is basically the same thing.

Got it Nash. I will try that tonight once the sun starts going down.

I am pumped to keep going on my modding now. The image is starting to look great. Watched two movies last night after I messed with the timing and was not distracted by that H sync issue I started to appreciate the quality of the details that I am now getting. Can't wait to do a full calibration and grey scale to get the image to pop.

Exactly.

Or set Hfront to 40 and then raise Hsync to 150 and see if things are better or worse. If that doesn't work, set Hsync to 80 and then Hfront to 150 and see if things improve.

Once you find you high value required for Hsync and Hfront you can decrease the value until you see squiggles again. You should stay well above the squiggle threshold though so when you find the low end, add 5-10 more pixels above that.

It's worth noting that when you add too many pixels to Hsync and/or Hfront that eventually you will run out of pixels. At that point you will have to increase your total pixels and then recalculate the clock.

James I should come up there with my Software and do the calibration for you. I need to do another marquee besides mine with a radiance in the chain and compare. I still feel there is something different with these Longbows in the CLM software. Scott said they have a special software and I think it is giving me strange results.

So the offer is open if your free one evening during the week. Then I can also stop at part connexion and get some parts I want.

We will have to make something happen Nash.

I just got a promotion at work that will have me moving to day shift instead of afternoon shift.

That would also provide me the opportunity to learn from somebody that has more knowledge of the Marquee chassis. I also have some set-up issues that I could use some advice on.

As long as you are not afraid of dogs you should be ok.
