Hi, I'm looking for a replacement lens for an Panasonic PT-AE900 E.
I don't know yet what this lens is called, but I will give a description.

Maybe a lens from an PT-AE 700 will help, too. They seem to be nearly the same projectors,
exept the IRIS.

Ok, short description:
The lens is located near the bulb in an array of lenses. It is build of some glas-segments.
The only picture I found is here:

Ignore the pink arrow, the one I'm looking for is the second from left side (RED arrow).
It has a metal sheet to hold it in position.

Maybe someone shouts "Here, I got some old Panasonic stuff!"

So thank you and best regards, Julian

PS: My girlfriend said a CRT would be to large and complicated for her room, thats the reason i bought this
3 LCD thing...

That appears to be the beam splitter. What is wrong with the one in the projector?

The projected image is very dark. I bought the projector it last week, and the seller said something about the lamps
life end.
But the lamp was very very bright when I fired it up outside the beamer chassis. I compared to a
150W VIP R lamp on the same SMPS, it was nearly the same brightness.
So I disassembled the projector and found lots of dust and nicotine.
The beam splitter lens is burned, the coating on one side was brown. I scratched the brown coating off,
cleaned most of the lenses and put everything back together. Much higher brightness now, but still way to dark.
The other problem I've seen: on the left side of the screen I got to much blue (it's a 3 LCD), maybe I should not
have loosened the screws of the mirror before the blue LCD. But it is not that much and I could live with it.

But what about that beam splitter lens? What is it's exact job? If someone has a new one (or used) I replace it.
What would happen if I just take it out and run the projector without that lens?

Regards, Julian

It's hard to tell from your image if your pointing to the beam splitter.

Is this what it looks like removed?

Have you seen Inglorious Basterds? "That's a Bingo!"
I searched Tectron.it, but... can you give me a link to the right part?
Thank you very much so far.

This should be the correct part for your model.

These are the other models that are suppose to be the same if you decide the new one is to pricey and want to hunt down a used one.

Oh yes, thats to expensive. I payed about 80$ for the rest of the projector.
Thanks for the other models Smile

Again the question: Does it make sense to try the projecto without that lens?
Or does this lens have such a big effect on the picture?
Is it possible that it (the damaged one thats build in my proj) effects the blue color
that I have to much blue on the left part of the screen ?
Regards, Julian

PS: I will reply here when I buy this lens. Until then, you can PM me if you
have one or a (cheap/ broken) projector, one in macgyvers list.

Hey, I ordered a PCE lens from here http://stores.ebay.de/Beamerbude-Berlin.
It is a used one for 20€ (approximately 25$) , but let's see how it will be working.
Just in case someone is looking for spare parts, I think this is a cheap address.
Don't know if he has other than Panasonic parts, but I think so.
Regards, Julian

I received the lens some days ago. Very good condition, an air-filter as extra gift.
I recommend the seller stricktly, just in case someone is looking for digital- projector spare parts.
Regards, Julian
