The Red Ray player is now shipping although it's in it's initial rollout stages. It is partnered with Odemax which will be the content provider. The content will be 4K, encoded in Red's proprietary codec at 9, 18, or 36 Mb per second bit rates. It has 5 HDMI connectors that you can plug in either a 4K monitor, an HD monitor or 4 HD monitors and it will split the 4K image across the 4 monitors to use for digital signage. It has an internal 1 Terabyte drive which will hold up to 100 hrs. of 4K content as well as external usb or e-sata drive expansion capabilities. This will likely be the best quality option out there but more expensive than others.

I wish. Red put it on hold until the Red Ray Player was finished and the new Dragon camera sensor was fully developed. Both are done now so hopefully we hear something concrete in the next two or three months. The projector will have a Red Ray player built in to it which will increase the picture quality beyond any other HDMI connected projector or TV.
