|
|
Greetings!
Anyone here using their Mux-FHD with a newer Tivo? If so, did the recent Tivo fall update cause issues for you?
I just had everything working correctly by switching the color space and now after the update, I am getting an HDCP error from the Tivo with the Mux-FHD in the HDMI chain.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and what might be done about it?
Thanks!
-Rob

The chain goes like this:
1. Tivo Premiere PVR --> MUX input
MUX out --> Denon AVR Receiver --> Pioneer Kuro Elite Plasma
MUX out --> Avermedia PC Capture card
I have tried a power-cycle on all devices, and I have tried to reset the MUX and put it in Bypass mode. No change. I get the "HDMI not permitted" error on the Tivo, which tells me it is an HDCP handshake issue. The incredibly interesting fact not to forget is that prior to the fall update from Tivo, this same chain was working just fine (aside from the requirement of changing the color space mode on the MUX from time to time to eliminate a pink hue). I have another Tivo unit in another room which also took their fall update, and its chain (via HDMI) goes Tivo --> Denon AVR --> Sharp TV. No HDMI/HDCP errors there.
I haven't removed the MUX from the chain yet, but I have a feeling if I do, the issue will go away. The problem is I need to keep the MUX in because I use it as a simple splitter for the PC I use with the Avermedia Card. The Avermedia card only has an input and no passthrough/output.
I suppose I could just try a traditional HDMI splitter and my guess is that it would work, but I like the MUX for the "extra" features.
This leads me to the conclusion that Tivo pulled something with this latest update as it pertains to HDCP.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Another important step for fault diagnosis: Do the internal test patterns ("#" key on the remote) show the same tint or are they white (as they should be)?

Thanks for the info, guys. I still can't get it to work. I don't understand. I thought the HDCP was removed by the Mux? I have tried different connections and still do not have it working. Any further ideas?

I'm looking for new MUX-FHD and couldn't find any information that it is released or not.
Could somebody let me know how and where can I order it or when will it be released?
