Do they make buzzing noise?

I had the original rf glasses and they buzzed when in operation.

Thanks!

No. The originals should not have buzzed either (mine don't).

Does the new version have a user replace-able battery?

edit- My old pair either only buzzed till it was warmed up or maybe it's just it was so low that the soundtrack covered it up.

Good question. I don't know.

They OEM is Bit Cauldron but their site doesn't have the newer ones up, just the different looking odler BC5000 model.
I've sent an email off asking and will post here and update the order page once I know.

They shouldn't make any noise at all.

Nope. I have 2 pairs of the new ones and the new transmitter, and the battery isn't replaceable. They also also don't use a mini-USB cable for charging anymore, either. There's a cable with a USB-A connector on one end and a mini-pin plug on the other end that comes with each pair of glasses. The quick eye reversal feature the new glasses have is great. Smile

Hi guys.

I have the new RF glasses, together with my JVC DLA-RS40. Although the 3D is very good, much better than my old Expand, I rarely use them because of the annoying buzz sound they're doing. I have tried all settings on the emitter, but it is the same. I was wondering if there was a new firmware upgrade for the emitter and/or glasses that could the solve the buzzing problem?

Thanks, Morten.

Hi Morten,

I'm not aware of any firmware upgrade. I remember you emailed us back in April 2013 and our rep confirmed with the manufacturer and said this:

Hi Kal / Morten.

We are aware of the issue and have actually asked the developer of the glasses about this and they quoted the following below to us...

"All 3D lenses are like piezoelectric devices. They buzz. Sometimes this is audible and sometimes it isn’t."

We haven't personally heard this ourselves but it appears some glasses may product more noise then others. I noticed you said it is very loud? How loud are you referring to? If it is as loud as you are referring to it should be able to be recorded with a video camera. Can you try taking a video camera close and then away from the glasses to see if it can be picked up and then send that to us? We expect that from what the manufacturer has stated there can be some noise but nothing too distracting.

Let me know.

Did you ever get back to them about this? I didn't see any follow up emails from you.

Kal

Hi Kal. I tried several recording devices, to capture the buzz. Although it is loud enough to be annoying, it is not loud enough to be captured to any use on any of my devices. And then I got a lot to do at my job, so I actually forgot about it. And when I remembered it again, a lot of time has passed, so I guessed I blew my chance to do anything about it. But the humming sound it there all the time, when 3D signal is on.

If you still have that original email, reply to it (use reply to all) and say exactly what you wrote here. I'll make sure it gets forwarded to the manufacturer... maybe there's something they can do.
