I just deleted a user that had 5 posts as replies to existing (older) topics. The posts were well formed (good wording, sounded real) but seemed off-base since (a) all 5 they had replied too were older topics and (b) the posts themselves weren't always completely on topic. They seemed "off".

Lately I've noticed spammers taking text from the same thread and reposting parts of it. Smart. This was completely different however: They used text that was somewhat relevant from COMPLETELY different websites.

Googling the post text came up with identical text somewhere else.

Examples:

Well,You can even use the Samsung LE46B650 as a monitor for PC gaming, and the Gaming Mode makes both console and PC gaming a uniquely impressive experience. There are USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports for easy connecting, and the stand swivels to allow easy access to the back of the television for hooking up consoles, DVD players (the TV has Blu-ray capabilities, of course), and other relevant peripherals.!

Very interesting.. But I guess you haven't mentioned liquid coupling at all. I know the G70 has it and the 808s doesn't, but I'm not sure about the others. It would be great if you could describe in more detail how the liquid coupled projectors compare with the air coupled ones.

This last post had me almost thinking that they were legit given that (a) it sounds like they know what they're talking about, and (b) almost only this site would talk about air-coupled vs liquid-coupled CRT projectors. But it was out of context for the thread.

!@*%^&@ spammers! Get a real job and do some real work instead of trying to take the easy way out in life.

Hi,

I read the user's/spammer's comments as well and got the same impression that they were somewhat off. I was tempted answering him on one (what has 3D to do with the type of lens coupling?). Interestingly enough, he didn't have the usual hyperlinks embedded which should lead the innocent reader to the wonders of genital improvements etc...

Regards,

No, but he did have on in his "website" listed on his profile page. Profile page aren't seen by anonymous users so the point of them doing this is moot: Search engines won't find it (the whole reason why they do this is to drive up their search engine score).
