I was lucky enough to pick up a Electrohome Marquee 9500LC Ultra for $250 a year or so ago. Got it ceiling mounted, Upgraded from HD10L to 10F lens. Absolutely loving it. Now I am ready to upgrade to HDMI. I contacted moome and all that they have available are the EXT V3 (HDMI 1.4 support) and VIM V2 (internal card)

Questions.

1. Which is better?
2. Does anyone know if/when more VIM V3s will be available. I asked moome but have not heard back from moome on this.
3. Is there a V4 coming down the pipe soon and that is why V3 are not available. Again waiting for a reply from moome.
4. Am I better off waiting for VIM V3 or possibly VIM v4?
5. What about the HDFury? I think I prefer the moome, but do not know enough to be sure.

Thanks so much for your help. I have learned a lot just from the feedback on these forums already.

Use a VIM for sure over any external option.

The version number doesn't matter much if you don't care about a 3D IR output.

Make sure that whatever VIM you have has the newer DA filtration om the analog side so that you get full bandwidth resolution. I think that v2 and v3 both have the new filtration model, but make sure with Moome before you order. If the v2 doesn't have it, I am sure Moome can change it for you before he ships. I do this in the field all the time on client machines.

Craig,

Thanks for the information regarding VIM vs EXT. I will definitely go the VIM route. I have not been able to get to moomecards.com for the last few days from either my work or my house. Seems the site is down Sad

btw, I purchased my lens from you last October. Arrived extremely well packed and they are working great. Worth every penny.

Btw Craig,

When are you going to be in the Twin Cities area? After I get the HDMI, I am looking at getting a professional calibration done.
