I see that I'm not quite at your level.
I'll come back when I've done some upgrade to my focus board.
Cheers,
Ron. |
This is from a standard 1997 9500LC. With HD fury 3.
When i'm looking your pics, i wonder if you have optimal focus.? maybe dirty glycol ?

Hi again,
Mine is from 1995. Glycol is one year in there and yes I have some small "bubbles" on the green C element. Unfortunately i have some "snowflakes" in my blue tube glycol as well. The red is completely clean and focus is not better.
Nashou what are the CPC magnets?
cheers,
ron.

I did a calibration (without meter) before modifying the VNB's so it could be that changing some resistors and caps could change it a little bit.
I see that my black level is not the same in the screen shot compared to yours.
I'll check that tomorrow.
cheers,
Ron.

Some call them Astigmatism magnets but their true name is Color Purity Control magnets. They Are the single two or tree magnet rings at the very end of the tube with the knobs or just tabs. These adjust the dot shape globally across the tube face.
Then if your PJ has them, you would adjust the corners using the Astig controls in the service menu for each RGB circuit.
Getting the Dots just right is critical for color purity and uniformity as well as sharpness.

Hi everybody,
I'm reading also the thread about the vertical faint line mod and the discussion about the decoupling caps.
http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29890
and I was wondering if the fact that after the change of the carbon resistors and the two electrolytic caps gave a better sharpness then when also the HF1100 was changed could be caused by a and decoupling capacitor because I have not changed the Tantalium decoupling caps. What should I use there?
Regards,
Ron.
