I'm sure Craig is right about the short HDMI cables, but with the little experience I have with short HDMI cables, I've never had a problem.

Just FYI.

Usualy shorter HDMI cables work fine. However, when trouble shooting a system that isn't working, than using 6' cables is a really good place to start.

I use 1.5' HDMI cables in my own system and they work fine. But with HDMI every installation has its own challenges.

OK well part of my monoprice order came today, the 6 foot cables made it so I installed them. No change. I do get a lumagen message that comes up for a second. The image projected is huge, at least 2 foot higher than the normal 16 9 image.( I call it an image but its really just a large screen of static.)
Since I am getting a lumagen message(however briefly) can I assume that it is being sent through to the pj ok ?
I am at a loss, I dont have the repeater yet or I would try that.

OK, what happens when you go BluRay to projector?

Then put the Lumagen in with another short 6' cable.

Then the receiver.

When you do lose the signal?

Jeff,

If you haven't tried it yet, hook the Lumagen to the projector with just a 6' cable.

The Lumagen will be defaulted to 480p which is why you are getting the huge image (480p isn't setup on your machine). You can go through the Lumagen menu and change the output to 1080p, or look in the manual for the direct command to enable 1080p.

With a 6' cable at the projector you want to be able to see the Lumagen menu.

If it still doesn't work, make sure the Lumagen and projector are plugged in on the same AC power circuit. If you have the projector and Lumagen (and other equipment) on different circuits you can get a ground loop which the Vision processors are very sensitive to. Have all your equipment on the same circuit.

You also should just remove the ground from the Lumagen 3-pin power cord. Just rip it off with a pair of pliers and get rid of it. Don't use a 3 prong power cord with the Lumagen.

Sorry for the delay, my dog was in a battle to the death with a groundhog. I had to go get her by passing through 30 yards of poison ivy. Then I got stung by yellow jackets(3 times) then a shower. Then I tried your suggestion. When going from the Oppo to the pj FINE.
Then I added the VP and I got a picture but it was full of noise.

I'd say the Moome card is fine, but the Lumagen settings either are off, or the unit (or power supply) is bad.

No, I promise you it is fine. This is not atypical in first installation with a Vision processor.

Most likely you have a cable mismatch between the Lumagen and Moome. By mismatch I just mean that the Lumagen doesn't like the cable.

Try removing the ground pin first from the power plug. If it's no better try the BD and Lumagen under the projector with just 6' cables at 1080p 60Hz from the Lumagen and 1080p 24Hz from the BD.

If that works, try the HDMI extender right before the Moome with your long cable.

If that doesn't work try a new HDMI cable. Get the 22 awg silver plated copper HDMI cable from Momoprice.

But I am sure the Lumagen is fine. You'll get it, or I will Wink

Jeff,

Be sure that you BD player is not set to 1080p 60Hz. If it is you may or may not get a picture from the Lumagen on screen. If you do get a picture it will have noise.

Be sure to set the BD to 1080p 24Hz.

Craig, If its ok with you I will just put it back the way it was WITHOUT the lumagen. I dont need it right now anyway.I will order that cable and will have the repeater here by then. Pulling the ground did get rid of most of the noise but not all of it.
OK ?

So I am back at this again. checking settings. The 1080P 24 output is set to off (on the oppo BD) If I set it on ON the image just rolls.

You all right?

Yes, if you set to 24Hz while connected to the G70 the image will roll. Set the Oppo to 1080i 60 Hz and confirm. Then power off the Oppo. Then connect the Oppo to the Lumagen and then set the Oppo to 1080p 24Hz while the Lumagen is set to output 1080p 60Hz.
