Link Posted: Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:00 pm Post subject: Sony G90 Dallas Chip CRT Timer & Serial Number Location |
|
|
Hello,
I recently purchased a Willem programmer to copy a G90 Dallas Chip:
http://www.mcumall.com/support/DualPoweredWillemUserGuide.htm
This works great, and I managed to make a copy an existing dallas chip from a working G90.
Inserted the copied dallas chip into another G90 (had a completely dead dallas chip) & it fires up fine. But the
CRT Timer and serial number information is the same as the original G90, as it should be.
I need to change the CRT timer and serial number information, in an earlier post by John, the location
is given as:
------------------------------------------
- Projector serial number is stored in [B0-B5] memory addresses by simply convert PJ label serial number in hexadecimal format (i.e. serial 2000420 -> #0000001E8624).
- Chassis timer is stored in [82-85] memory addresses by simply convert chassis hours in 1/100' format in hexadecimal format (i.e. 8633hrs=3108016324 (1/100sec.) -> #B94090C4).
- Blue tube timer is stored in [86-89] memory addresses by simply convert blue tube hours in 1/100' format in hexadecimal format (i.e. 635hrs -> #0DA028C0).
- Green tube timer is stored in [8A-8D] memory addresses by simply convert green tube hours in 1/100' format in hexadecimal format (i.e. 635hrs -> #0DA028C0).
- Red tube timer is stored in [8E-91] memory addresses by simply convert red tube hours in 1/100' format in hexadecimal format (i.e. 635hrs -> #0DA028C0).
--------------------------------------
However in the binary file that I have, I cannot find anything that is accurate in them locations.
The dallas chip that I copied (binary file posted), has the serial number: 2000398, hex: 1E860E
and CRT and total runtime of 566hrs.
I guess I must be doing something completely wrong, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be
very grateful!
As .bin files cannot be updated on this site, I have renamed it to .txt, please change to .bin to view in an hex editor.
Thank u very much!
Shaz

Thats odd. Pull that Dallas out, read it again, save and send me that file. Also take the original good dallas that you read for the starting file and read it again and send me that file. Then put that original good dallas in the projector and give me the timers and serial from in the menu.

Hello Shaz,
In the numbers I gave above, the displayed hours were rounded, that's why you do not have the exact hex values in the bin form.
By taking my own example : the chassis timer value in my example was read in my Dallas chip at #B94090C4 (3108016324 x 1/100 of sec.). If you divide this decimal number by 360000 (3600x100), then you'll have the exact hours counter value of 8633,37867777777 hours. So the exact time counter is 8633 hours + 22 minutes + 43 secondes + 24/100e of sec.
For your exemple : 566 is the timer ROUNDED value in hours (203760000 x 1/100e of sec). This decimal value converted to Hex is #C252180. If you have something higher in your dallas chip record : this is normal because you probably have some minutes- seconds added to your 566 hours !
Hope this helps
John

John. The problem is that in the locations you have listed in the above quote he has 0000's but I'm assuming the projector does display the serial and timer info. I read another Dallas I have here and it also has 0000's in your locations. I have identified a location I believe to be the timer info but have not heard back from Shaz to verify. Is your post a G90 read or a G70?

Mac,
I will get back to u with the files today, when I get home. Sorry for the delay, been on a road trip.
The chip is a G90 read, and like u I get 0s in the locations.
Firmware version is 1.11 (the latest)....perhaps this can have an effect?

Additional Info:
The binary file posted above, amagasaki.txt -- has serial number 2000398,
and CRT and total runtime of 566hrs. when copied onto a blank dallas chip, and
installed, it displays correctly on the projector, but looking @ the locations given above,
I see 0s.....
