Was browsing through Craigslist for the KC area last night, noticed 2 Pioneer turntables listed. A PL-550 in absolute mint condition (even has the original plastic sheet on the rubber mat on the platter), and a PL-560 in 8/10 condition. Both from same seller, I contacted him about 45 min. after the post.
Picked them both up today for a total of $250 for the 2 tables, sending the PL-550 off to Jeremy112 for a friend of his, and keeping the PL-560 for myself!
Now to resume building the vinyl collection....
My wife hates my hoarding too

Yup, that's the PL-560, with a custom wood plinth. I've seen comments from some people on AK that they have taken off the silver veneer from the MDF plinth & replaced it with a better looking veneer, but for now mine is just stock looking, in really good condition.
It's a step up from the Technics SL-D20 I had on the audio rack before (and which is now for sale....)

There are two TT i am looking at on CL right now. A Sansui SR-2020 and a really nice Techics SL10 linear tracking TT witht he pressure puck on the lid so you can play records vertical, up sidedown etc. Pretty cool.
But i like the traditional TT's so I might go for the sansui. That will be 4 TT's if I get one of them.

I fear I'm on a slippery slope into audio hoarding. This is just the latest symptom of my sickness, but it's a nice table! Only at 2 tables total for now, and I should really get rid of the Technics, but if it doesn't sell, darn, guess I'll have to keep it.
Oh well, there are worse things that I could spend $$ on, like booze, drugs, women. Wife is a little upset, but I think she'll get over it....

I'm currently listening to the PL-550 that RayN picked up a few days ago and sent my way. Talk about a turntable!! It looks like it just got out of the factory and sounds incredible, even with the original pioneer cartridge and stylus.
Currently listening to: DJ Tiesto - "Major League" bout a 10 minute techno song. Techno never sounded so awesome
Nice score ray, and nice Turntables

Here's the PL-560, after I got it set up & modified the P-mount adapter to accept the Grado Silver cartridge:

Very nice Ray! That table looks like new. By the way, I will be needing that rack you have there for my series 20 stuff
