I have a bunch of 1080i .TS recordings that I need to split ( 2 shows back to back ) they are 15.67GB.
MPEG2VCR won't open anything larger than around 9GB
Do you guys know of a program that can do this, chop the shows in two and edit out the commercials and NOT have to do a 20 hour re-render of the video to save it. Also it needs to be saved as .TS MPEG2
That's what I like about MPEG2VCR, it can save a 44 minute edited 1080i .TS file in about 6 minutes. No re-rendering just snip and join.
Any suggestions?

I used to use VideoRedo all the time back when I used to archive lots of OTA stuff. It will definitely edit and save transport streams, and do cuts-only I-frame editing.

They have a trial version so you can give it a whirl.

Do you have or have you tried HDTV2MPEG2 ?
I've used it to "join" my MyHD .ts files (it allows you to save them as .tp, .ts, or mpeg2). It should allow you to split them the same way. I'm not aware of any size limitations, but then again, I've never split anything as large as 16GB.
