A friend of mine has a 6 PG EXTRA. He is getting another one this week. He was wondering if 1080P is possible with 2 on a stack. To my knowlege the projector still has to support 1920X1080. But using two I simply do not know. He is wondering if you can split the 1920X1080 in to two. Intriuging question....I just don't know if adding another projector will get you to 1080P.

Only if you blend them, if the PJ can not do 1080p on its own two will not either. Unless you somehow manage to get the two projectors to run 540i with one starting the every other line at precisely the exact moment the other starts drawing the other line.

The 6PG XTRA will not do 1920x1080p anyway, but if its going to be blended you only have to get it to do half that, and it should easily do that. Itll easily do 1920x1080i though, and will look better at the same time.
Might be better off having them on their sides and turning the yokes 90 degrees and shooting 960x1080 from each one.

That is a blend, try it on a single, and it wont look as sharp as 1080i. When you blend, youre not doing 1920x1080 on the one projector, youre breaking it up in half and letting 2 share the load.
Either way, a single 6PG XTRA cant do 1920x1080p anyway. A 9PG XTRA can, but not a 6.

I never said a 6xtra could......he wants a 2nd one to blend and be able to get 1080p. Otherwise there would be no point. I'm not sure you could get that high with a single 9 xtra either.
I know at one time I thought about getting 3200 X 2400 with two 1208's but just thought it was a pipe dream. I guess it was possible....oh well.
I guess for now on we prove it with pics......LOL

Yes, you could get that high with a 9PG XTRA, youd sh** it in. May not resolve it, but itll display it.
You cant get 3200x2400 with two 1208s, not in a million years. Youd need 4 for that, cause that is 4x 1600x1200 pixels on the screen. Youd be dreamin if you thought youd get 1600x2400 on each set. Im sure what you mean is 3200x1200, but what would you do with that?
