Ok, I'll start on those and probably will not get back to you for quite a while. I'll remove and test. Do you know how much a board would cost? Ballpark?

You would have to call Marantz...... (201) 762-6392

Called Marantz - board is no longer available. I'll pull leg3 on rest of IC's, just for grins. Also, may look for a shorted cap, however, I don't expect to find one. But will get out my trusty ESR meter. I'll probably pop that inductor also. Just clean that 5v line till something changes or it doesn't. Like you said, if it can't be fixed it could still be used without HDMI.

I am close to giving up on this, but have made significant progress. I have the voltage back up to near 5v at BN31 pin 2 and 3. Video is also coming on, looks good. I did not pull any more legs on the reg IC's. Pulled three caps and three inductors that I traced all the way to the S119185 (HDMI 3.1 switch), where I isolated them by pulling the inductor L101, L102 and L103. Affected voltages are v3.3v2 (IC97) and v1.8v4 (IC98) . v3.3v2 short is coming from S119185. That will probably be a show stopper. However, v1.8v4 short is somewhere between L103 and IC98, but I have pulled or tested everything in that circuit and it is still shorted. I can't find any other usage of v1.8v4 anywhere on the HDMI schematics, but it has to be there some where. I would atleast like to find the cause of v1.8v4 short before I give up.

I does appear as though that +1.8v4 line only feeds that switch, but what do you mean by it still shows a short? I'm not following.

Ok, I found it. There was a fine thread of solder on L103 still hanging on. That concludes it. Both v3.3v2 and v1.8v4 are shorted inside S119185. I assume loss of that switch pretty well eliminates the usage of any HDMI ports. If the RCA's still work I guess the receiver could still be used. I'll get it back together and try to test it. I read that it is common for these types of units to get hits in the HDMI circuit. I really appreciate your help - you were very analytical in your approach. Analysis is something I know - I have an Eng degree, and spent almost 40 yrs as a Sr Systems Eng for a major oil co. I was over telecom design and dev. All that experience and it still doesn't make you a electronics tech. Like I said I can get through, but sometimes I need side rails. Of course being almost 70 doesn't help either, I make a lot of stupid mistakes that I thought I would never make. Believe me it comes!!! I will be making a contribution to your site. Thanks for the expert help. John

Input 4 bypasses the switch. Don't know if that would be beneficial or not. Or if it would even function with the switch disconnected.

I saw that too - I don't know what it will do. I 'll just have to try it. Maybe outputs will work - and maybe nothing will work. Time will tell. I'll let you know after I get it back together and tested. Thankfully the only parts that have been pulled are from v3.3v2 and v1.8v4. I won't have to put them back.

I have a Marantz SR7002. The unit is locked in flashing standby with @ 2 sec intervals.
These are my observations: I don't hear any relay click sound. I checked the voltage +5VL is there. No other voltage/s. Looks like stanby signal coming from DSP board. Any help to find the fault appriciate.
