I just watched this last night. What a transfer!
They did a 4K, 12 megapixel scan of the original camera negative. Yes, the piece of film that captured what was seen through the lens!
The background detail looks spectacular!
They left the sound alone. It's Mono and it suites this movie. I found myself looking all around the frame at what was happening in the background. The color timing was excellent too. Vibrant, not oversaturated.
You wouldn't think this movie was shot over 45 years ago.
Excellent!
Go buy it.

I've had this movie on BD since the middle of last year. Are you talking about the same one, or are you talking about a newer release?

Same one. I just noticed no one did any kind of review on it here.

I do not think I offered anything, but that may be due to the fact that I watched it in HD on HDnet Movies and on one of the local OTA stations. I bought and watched it again on BD, and it is nice. I really like looking at how things were in that time (before I was born/hatched).

I thought you were grown in a lab.

Once they realized what they got, the firm decided to kill those scientists and destroy the lab--they forgot me, of course. And like Jurassic Park I got out into the wild and will breed.

I thought you had a strict no breeding policy

I just don't want the responsibility. So, as long as I hit it and quit it ...
