|
|
I'm playing with a VP50 here. I'm using the RGBHV outputs and the composite inputs. Projector is a SONY D-50
I can see the on screen menu's from the VP50, I've set the output to 1080i 60, so far so good.
However, when I run a composite source into the VP50 I get no picture. According to the INFO screen the input is 480i 60 so it can sense the input but no picture output. I've tried two video camerass same result.
If I run the cameras into the composite of the Sony projector I get a picture no problem so I know there's a signal there.
....and no I have not RTFM .....yet.
help???

According to one dealer, the DVDOs can smoke the video (and other) inputs if the unit is powered up while you're making connections.
Years ago i had a Lumagen nuke one of the component inputs, so I guess it's possible..

Hmmm wierd. I had it off when I made the connections.
It can tell what the inputs are, just won't make a picture, here's the info screen:

I think I'll RTFM first, then I'll email them.

I don't know about the VP-50 but the Lumagen will disable the RGB if a DVI or HDMI is connected at all. HDCP keeping us all safe.

Well it's CURTAINS for me in the process of RTFM* I figured it out.
I was looking for a video mute button, that's what the CURTAIN button does. Before reading the manual I would have guessed that it was there to actually control a physical curtain, but now I understand it's a VIDEO MUTE button, the picture has black curtains that sweeps in from either side to blank the picture.
*Read The Freakin' Manual

I will bow to you on that one.
At least I wasn't at this for the whole week. Only a day and 3 minutes

I dunno, I remember another forum member when we were all at avs that reversed the RGBHV cables since he was looking at the set while ceiling mounted.. that took him about a week to figure out..
I would not have nailed that one via email troubleshooting in a million years...

Interesting thead and more interesting is you all using a new word, "manual". Is that an english word? If so, what does it mean related to video. The only time I hear "manual" is when someone wants me to do some WORK!!!!!
It reminds me of when I was a teenager at some of my jobs. I was a "You-Boy". The boss would say, "Hey, you boy! Get over here and move this." I was beginning to think my real name was, You Boy.
