The PS3 can do 1080p@120 but the Moome can't take it and the 1292 either.

Are you sure 1292 can't? Let's try it and you'll be surprised Wink

I am not very confident that this would work, have you ever tried it out?
It would be interesting if this would be possible.

Oh I read this only today...

I tried 1080p@120Hz with vga output of the htpc. 1292 syncs with it because horizontal rate is like 134,7KHz and the maximum allowed from specifications is 135! The picture is far less detailed than the 720 but not too much different than the 1080@72p

Wow, I'm surpriced that the 1292 can take 1080p@120 Shocked
Maybe you have some big losses in the vga cable because it's not made for this kind of signals ...
What ifb card do you have in your 1292, an ifb12 has far better bandwidth then an ifb10 or ifb11.

It works, but not very clear. Unfortunately I've got an IFB-11 that is rated only 100MHz (if someone had a 12A in the tray...
Wink ) . It is perfect until 60p , at 72p begins to smear and 120 a lot more.

I can't get my XG110LC to sync at 720p/120. I had a question on this device vs the 3d-vip products. From what it looks like, those products will actually do scan rate conversion (not sure how, or how accurately) as well as support 3d at 60hz. I've got moome's cards in my projector and overall i'd rather buy this than theirs. But I'm having a hard time working out how I can get this box to work right to let me play xbox 360 games in 3d.

I think your issue has more to do with the 3d signal you get out of the xbox and less with the capability of your projector to synchronize. I have a similar constellation in work with EXT V3, PS3 and SONY 1292. Evrything works perfect with 3d games from PS3 because PS3 delivers 720p@120Hz for 3D and that is excactly what EXT V3 needs. If you have another signal for 3d (>720p) this will not work with EXT V3, here you need a 3d capable scaler in between. I am not familiar with the Xbox, do you know what Xbox provides for a 3d gaming signal?

The xbox will output as side by side 3d at any of its resolutions. Last night for laughs while set to 1080i over composite I flipped it on in call of duty. But if this box doesn't do refresh rate conversion even outputting as 720p does me no good as the projector flakes out via rgb input in 720 at anything over 100.

side by side 3d should be no problem for the box. So far as I know the box doesn't do any rate conversion. You give in via HDMI 720p with 120Hz vertical rate and that's what you get on RGB output. According to the specs your XG110LC could handle 120Hz vertical frequency, or not? For 120Hz V-sync you need about 90kHz horizontically. But this should be possible... I am really stunned Confused

I'll agree, according to specs it should. But when I hooked an HTPC up and set it to 1280*720/120hz the screen wigged out, got an unreadable error message from the projector, and it powered itself down....

In your place place I would go for a problem with the sync cirquit of the projector... I am not familiar with the NEC but there should be something there like a sync board, this is worth to check if everything is working ok.

Another plus to having bought my projector from Curt, I'll check with him on that.

this depends on what IR emitter you use, the Moome box only provides the signal for synchronization.

What about the emitter that comes with monster max 3d? It has a VESA 3pin. Can these be used with nvidia gt430?

EXT V3 provides a mini jack, at least you have to build an adapter for using the vesa. From my point of view this shouldn't be a problem. Then you would connect gt430 gfx to Moome via HDMI, connect monster max 3d emitter with Moome via VESA-mini jack adapter and that's it. But I am not sure if it is possible to let the nvidia GT430 work in 3D without having a 3D Vision kit. I have a similar config (Nvidia GTS450, 3D VIsion kit, EXT V3, Gen2-Emitter) and I can say that it works very fine, but I have never tried this without 3D Vision kit.

Update: The XPAND 103 glasses work fine with the GEN2 emitter.

I did some further testing yesterday and found out that the red/green blinking mode is the best for the glasses.

Sync is perfect and you can move your head without any issues.

All i can say is go 3D with a CRT and stay away from digital Twisted Evil
