Hi all, had to get a new htpc, motherboard went in the old one and it was giving other PSU problems. Is got a cheapish triple core amd chip and very cheap 6450 Asus graphics cards.
Much to my suprise powerstrip is not supported! In fact they dont support most newer chipsets it seems, thats what they told me anyway and have no real intention of doing so. I dont think riva tuner supports it either.
Anyway, I now have a problem as when I set the pj up and output 1920 1080p the image does not fit in the display area if I move the mouse I can move to the other side of the screen but never have the image all on the display area.
Catalyst sees the display as a vga display apparently.
I tried just changing out the sony monitor cable at the back of the PC and plugged in the Ampro, so that the catalyst saw it as a Sony GDM-FW900 (my monitor) but then the image just wrapped around both sides when the ampro picked up the freqency.
Any advice?

The retrace time of the Ampro projectors is too long to show all of 1080p without the image wrapping around. Not much can be done. You can move the blanking in to blank out the wrapped part or get a scaler and create a blanking time wider than the projector's retrace time or display something other than 1080p.

I couldnt work it out, thanks Scott, I remember you telling me what powerstrip settings to use a long time ago, what I think I will do is use my old card and get those settings set up so it fits like last time.
Pity I didnt know how to hack the registry and input the settings you gave me! I wondered if I could add the resolution to the sony drivers ini file but could not work it all out, this card is fanless and super quiet compared to the old one, thanks again.

scott, i remember you suggested another fet for the sweep on the horizontal module and a change of some caps in the ampro to get shorter retrace.
that was your message with the mathcad explanation  .

The horizontal output board has 1000V mosfets. It takes about 1500V with retrace short enough to show all of 1080P. So the output board would have to have some arraingment of series mosfets to handle the voltage. It could be done but alot of work.
