Hi all,

Picture just dropped out on my 808s and after isolating every component in the chain, I dropped the hood on the PJ and found a red led on one of the boards ( unsure how to identify it ) and also on the aluminium drop down cover there are four leds lit with one of them flashing intermittently, the description alongside the flashing led is labelled Processor Cycles.Would this be the reason for the picture dropping out? and if so is it an easy fix?

UPDATE: okay removed the board with the lit led and the number on it is R7622686 and it has another smaller board attached with part number R762268S

The drop down cover with the flashing LED sounds like "CPU Cycles" and that should be flashing. The other RED LED if that is at the back of the projector on a board that appears to be on its own then that is the EHT board and a red LED is bad news.

No, those lights mean nothing. Check the tech section of the main site, it has all boards and board descriptions listed.

You need to check the lights on the G2 board and the ones on the EHT board. Post back what red lights are on.

THE red lights you're looking at on the controller board mean literally nothing in the case of a projector problem. If you can turn the set on and off, 90% of the controller board is working. Your problem is elsewhere.

Thanks for the help

Found the particular information and the board is called Vertical board and if the red led is lit it could mean either a bad vertical board or theres no signal being fed to it.No other red leds lit inside the PJ,so going back to the start heres what ive done so far, first the signal chain

DVD,SET TOP BOX,VCR > DVDO VP 30 > HDMI > HD FURY2 > GAMMA X > PJ

Bypassed DVDO with both DVD and SET TOP BOX to wall socket... no signal

Bypassed HDMI cable by hooking up a dvd player i know is in working condition directly to HD FURY 2 with another HDMI cable.....No signal

This then leaves the HD FURY and its power supply the only two components left.It has the blue led lit but also emits a red light from the hole next to the HDMI input, havent noticed this before.Optical audio perhaps??

Possibly the power supply to the FURY could be the culprit, have a Moome EXT FULL HD V2 to swap the HD FURY out of the chain but keep getting a flashing red led on that when the power is connected to it and possibly because of that no signal is output....not sure why that is,its the power supply that was supplied with the V2 so should be in sync?

Now going to try composite cable directly from the DVD to the PJ to see if that will work.Shall keep you posted.......

Hi,

So you have a HDFury III. If the top blue light is constantly on the it means the HDFury is decoding a video signal from its HDMI inputs. The red light out of the nearby connector is in fact the optical output of digital audio being extracted from the HDMI signal. As you describe it, everything looks normal.

I don't think its a source issue here. The Barco should start up without any source connected and then should show a splash screen. If this is not the case, an internal failure most likely is preventing it from doing so.

Go with Curt's recommendations. He may have worked on zillons of those machines...

Even with no signal, do you get the onscreen menus or test patterns? Trying to figure out if it's a signal or projector issue.

OK, I'm guessing this is a signal problem. Try the sync inversion switch on the GammaX, the BArco will not work with positive sync.

Ok tried that and no change except this time on start up the PJ displayed the barco identification screen which hasnt happened before.

Also during the times when the picture was dropping out there was a message Warning:source not available.

So I'm guessing that the setup was working fine for a while? If so, switch the GammaX back to where it was, since it was working before.

At this point I'd feed an RGBHV signal from a computer into the Barco, making sure you have positive sync. Your V board could be bad, but the RGB switcher board also could be bad. You have pressed '5' on the keypad, selecting the port 5 BNC inputs, right? If the set got switched to another input accidentally, you could lose the image.

Yes the setup was working fine until suddenly the picture started to dropout intermitently then no picture at all.

And yes the relevant number for each port is pressed but no change.

Will feed a RGBHV signal to it and keep you posted as to the outcome

Cheers!

On startup there are no red leds lit until 5 is pressed on the keypad then the one on the vertical board lights up and stays constant.

I'm guessing RGB input board, or a source problem. Don't forget to try a new RGB cable. Loss of 1 sync cable, and you've got nuffin'. Smile

Fed the Pj a RGBHV signal from the laptop via a new cable and no response, also used a HDMI cable

Also connected a DVD player i know is in working condition via Composite and S Video with no image
displayed. So have tried all ports so far except port 3 and all with no response from the PJ.
