to use bg1200 tubes in bg808s just connect pin 8 to pin 3 and it vill work

and on p16 to p19 yes you can

Discovered that but thanks for confirmation.

OK I thought I had this figured but now not so sure. Pin 8 according to BG808s manual is already connected as G1 and 09MFX3 or 09MEX2 has pin 8 as G1. Pin 3 on tube pin out is also listed as G1 but there is no pin 3 on socket schematic.

Tubes pin 3 is pin 4 at barco schematics, because it's made by universal socket numbering not sonys. Very Happy

It's always good to check that those extra G1 pins (9/13 socket) aren't connected to ground at neck card when modifying pinouts, that will short G1 to ground via tube. Shouldn't be problem with BG808s neck cards with 09MEX tubes, but sometimes it could be.

I will check those two pins as I am getting full brightness only which would suggest no G1.

This is a Sony tube

Rvonse in this post wrote:

Pinout of all Sony (either 8 or 9") tubes are:
1=G3
2=blank
4=G1
5=G2
6=filiment
7=filiment
8=blank
9=G1
10=cathode
11=blank
12=blank
13=G1

He do not has described the pin 3 and has used same numeration order like Panasonic.

Below is a Panasonic tube

I will do photos of this.

Below a picture of a green Panasonic P16LNP

Inside tube there are 14 "points" but numbers 3, 4, 13 and 14 have no pin.
In these "points" there are glass bubbles only.

I dont understand what your question is. Pins 3 and 14 are under the plastic cap on the back of the tube. You can't see them except in your pic showing the inside back of the tube. They are listed as blank sometimes cause of where their location would be. Thats why the order goes 1, 2, 4, 5 and so on and usually stops at 13 even tho there is a spot for a 14 but nothing is there. Just a bubble in the glass.

What is your specific question?

Because Pin 3 on Sony tubes actually has a function G1.

This Pin out does not match either Sony tube Pin out for 09mex2 09mfx3 and it does not match Pin out for bg808s neck board.

In fact ... the sheet that show pinout crt 9" is wrong!

Pin 3 not exist.

You must consider pin 4 (G1) like Rvonse list

According to BG808s neckboard socket schematic Pin 4 is G2 same as 09MEX2 G1 is on Pin 8.

Pinouts

09MEX2 BG808s

1 arc 1 ground
2 nc 2 ground
3 g1 3 nc
4 g2 4 g2
5 heater 5 heater
6 heater 6 heater
7 nc 7 ground
8 g1 8 g1
9 cathode 9 cathode
10 nc 10 nc
11 nc 11 nc
12 g1 12 nc

The nc (not connected) on the BG808s socket I have assumed as they are not mentioned in the schematic. One of these at least is wrong as the tube goes into full brightness.

Perhaps don't understand your question, sorry.

However my latest pictures show BG808s tube (Sony 07MFP2).

So 07MFP2 has same pin out as 09MEX2?

I don't know, but Rvonse in his post said -either 8" and 9"-.
So I assuming that all Sony tubes have same pinout.

Have you a 09MEX2 to compare with 07MFP2?

I don't have 07MFP2.

When I put bg808s neck card on 09MEX2 or 09MFX3 tube the tube goes full brightness. If I look at the neck card it would seem that I should connect Pin 8 to pin 4 or pin 9 and if this right then 8 and 9 tubes are not exactly the same.
