How do they compare?
Just installed a Marquee 8000 (no mods or updates yet, not even calibated yet) and am using an HDFury 1.
I intend to install 9 inch tubes into this or an 8500 chassis in the future.
The pj will eventually be used by PS3, HTPC, and a sat receiver.
Right now, the picture is very soft and colors are for spit. Source is sat receiver and pic from it directly to a flat screen are *enormously* better than what the Marquee's are putting out. (Bear in mind the neither Marquee has been calibrated yet.)
Obviously, we've had the HDFury1 for quite a while but I expected much better than this; the pic on the 4101 was better!
So should I fork over the large price for the Moome input card ($349 today)? Is the Moome v4 coming out "any day now?"
Thanks.

craig did some testing and even the hdfury 3 is a lesser performer by quite a margin compared to the moome v1.3 hdmi with mike parker mods.
i have the 1.3 in my 9500 and love it, only the ps3 is connected to the moome.

I use a Moome Ext-FullHD V2 and have used (and still have) a Fury 1. The Moome is night-and-day better than the Fury.

So that begs the question whether the external Moome unit is better than the internal Marquee unit. The external is up to HDMI 1.4, while the card is only 1.3 The external is cheaper, too. Anyone know which of those two gives the better picture and audio?

There are differences in architecture between the external boxes and internal cards. The internal ones offer much shorter signal paths as well.

the internal is better, what the difference exactly between the 1.4 and 1.3 hdmi standard is i do not know.
the maximum bandwidth is the same i guess.... it is, i just consulted wikipedia (340mhz). (other things like ethernet and audio return cable is bollocks imho especially in a video cable).
i would have preferred the dvi-i dual link as the great standard and a separate audio cable but who am i.
this bandwidth is much more then a single pj can handle so i would say go for the internal moome with a nice 9500 ultra fully modded and a high gain torus screen.
