Yes, it will work just fine. I'm assuming you'll want to plug the HDfury2 right into the RTC2200 to feed it an RGB signal. RGB is RGB, so it'll work just fine.

You can then use the RTC2200 to add a gamma boost, switch between component and RGB inputs, and host of other extras.

Kal

That should work.

Hi Kal,

Could you confirm that the RTC2200 will add gamer boost to the output, when fed with a 1080/72p signal from the HDfury2?

I realise the Component conversion will not handle this refresh rate (tops out at 60p), and the RGB "pass-through " goes further (1600x1200/75Hz). However that is a computer resolution and they sometimes don't resolve every interim step.

Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,

The HDfury2 does not support 1080p/72 output. It tops out at 1080p/60. There was a day or two when the specs said it could do 1080p/72 but that's still being testing thoroughly to make sure it can indeed do it, so for the time being that spec was removed from the order page (www.curtpalme.com/HDfury2.shtm) just to make sure there isn't any confusion.

Kim of Crescendo-Systems can chime in to confirm but it's my understanding that the RTC2200 will handle any and all resolution/refresh rate combos up to and including 1600x1200/75 through the RGB passthrough. Mine has certainly handled everything I throw at it.

Moot point if the HDfury2 doesn't do it however. Moome's EXT-FULLHD HDMI converter does handle 1080p/72 though. See: http://www.curtpalme.com/EXT-FULLHD.shtm

Peter,

As kal mentioned, the RTC2200 will indeed do 1080p/72 through the RGB input without any problem.

Sorry for reanimating this old thread, but i want to use the RTC2200 with 1080/72 and 75p. Is this possbile?

My chain will be:

BluRay/HD-DvD/DvD/Pal TV to Lumagen Radiance +(72/75Hz) - Fury3 - RTC2200 - CRT

Thanks for you help!

Best regards
Chris

Chris,

When you go through the RGB input of the RTC2200 it will work. In case you are not interested in YPrPb transcoding function of the RTC2200 then the BUF2000 will be a cheaper option, it goes from RGB to RGB can generate almost any sync you want and it has the low level gamma function.
