Guys,

I have roughly 40 Dtheater movies and a JVC 5U that I want to sell and was wondering what the whole package would be worth? I need to raise dough for new tubes for the stack and was thinking of selling the whole lot on Ebay.

a couple of bucks per tape is my guess...better quality downloads are available for free in most cases.

The DTheater movies seem to not be worth spit these days.

But the 5U is worth something to people like me that record kid's movies to D-VHS still. PM me if you want to sell that--I really don't want to pay anything for the movies!

I'm afraid that's somewhat of an irrelevant comparion. Why would you compare what people that steal movies are willing to pay to people that want to own content legally?

Using that logic, even Blu-ray movies are worthless as you can download bit-perfect versions of just about any movie.

If I was to sell 100 Blu-ray discs would it only be worth 10 cents/movie because you can download them all for free?

Kal

Damn Cliffy, you've been thinking about this for a long time! I just looked this up from almost a year ago when you were thinking about selling them and I said PM me on the 5U when you get around to selling:

For me it would depend on the movies in question...most weren't selling on ebay, but not a lot there either. A few one-at-a-times for ~$10/ea. Players ranged all over the place, avg ~$120, but I dunno about if yours rocks or is avg...what I do know of you makes me think is was purty nice. Maybe you could get $200 for the whole ball of wax...regardless, doesn't buy you a lot of tubes.
