I found the service manual... Definitely a CRT... 07mac2 tubes, video-only.

I wouldn't drive 200 miles to pick one up if somebody gave me gas money... If I wanted a giant RPTV, there are much newer Mits HD sets with bigger tubes and more modern inputs are going for under $200 around here. My buddy had a Mits Diamond 65" - the one with 9" tubes in it... Beatiful TV - probably 2004-vintage... I just saw one here in my town on craigslist for sale for $250... I'm sure a guy could have bought it for even less.

I have one just like in my basement...I haven't turned it on in about 5 years...I did watch it a lot during the 2000 election mess so much I burnt the MSNBC logo into the green tube.

BTW the scan lines on the thing are about 1/4"...You can see them at about 25 feet.

ok thanx. i wont bother with it if its a video-only..it comes with a free Pioneer 909 laserdisc player and amp, but i would have to also take the tv if I wanted those..

back here in finland big crt tvīs are really rare, never seen mitsus or panas for sale, i dont think anyone here has one and of course its not practical to import one from the states. I think they were never sold here.
