The decision has been made..... DRUM-ROLL please.......
The OPPO BDP 95
I know not really a surprise.
Hey Kal, I am going to order the 95. How do I make sure you guys get credit here?
And maybe a link in this thread to buy either one from here?

Thanks EJ, I found that page but there is nothing there about the 95 on there or on Amazon at all. It may only be available from OPPO as a pre-order.
However; Kal may be able to do something I am not aware of, or maybe not. I just wanted to help out if I can.

I was under the impression any Amazon link on this site would spawn a session for which anything purchased at Amazon would count.

Yeah I think it works that way too. But the 95 is not listed on amazon. On audioholics their link from the 95 goes to OPPO direct and I'm sure they're not doing that for free.
So I will wait a few more days to order. To make sure.
Am I dedicated or what?

That is correct. Clicking on my Amazon links here and then purchasing something completely different during that visit will automatically kick back a small commission to this site (at no extra cost to the purchasing).

Kal, do you get information on what is being purchased when done in this manner? For instance, let's say i hop over to Amazon via a Blu-ray advertisement on the forum, but then go and buy only a multiswitch. Does this forum become aware of that item being purchased?

I see what is purchased and when it shipped.
I don't see what someone clicked on to get the Amazon.
I don't see who purchased it or what else they purchased.
So to use your example, I'll see that a 'multiswitch' was purchased and the day it shipped but I have no idea it was you, no idea what else you purchased, nor do I know how to got to amazon to purchase it.

OK, all this of this I am so sure I am going to order the 95. Then I sat down yesterday and tweaked my current system for 2 channel. You know move this speaker one inch this way, measure the angle of each speaker from each corner to the wall, measure distances from side wall... You know the whole it's perfect right here the Goldylocks zone.
The I listened. I listened to multichannel analog inputs doing just 2 channel. I listened analog 2 channel only. I listened to digital coax doing 2 channel. I listened.
You know what I found out?
There is so little difference in sound quality it just doesn't matter anymore.
Mind you there was a difference when listening to SACD over the Multichannel analogs going to 2 channel over everything else...but it was a really small difference. Tiny.
So I have gone to the 93
Wan, you were right, why pay for what I can't hear.
My ears just aren't up to the slight differences anymore...Oh well.
Kal, you will see an OPPO 93 on your Amazon report today.

You will not be disappointed with the 93. Wise decision...

Good call, Dave. That just leaves $500 in the cookie jar to spend on some other toy.

Wow It's here. The BD-93, 2 days and free shipping. I'll start a new thread or use SC's oppo93 thread to give my impressions as they form.
And Maybe link to this one?

Did anyone catch the thread over on AV$ about the 98 due out in June? Apparently its going to be a 250-disk slot-load with internal storage (a la hard drive) for $1299. I'm guessing this will compete with Sony's more expensive BD megachanger.
