Just increase brightness and the sun is shining
Maybe the camera is not setup properly.

It is the camera, as I said only a first shot... I have to spend some more time to take some better photos, I promise.
Actually I only wanted to show that the solution at last worked as it should

nope, perhaps I will give it a try on the weekend. I have to rewire or at least check the wiring for the VESA adapter as described in last post fro Udo. I will give some feedback if I have success.

|
|
I've been able to use the Moome EXT3 and PS3 using the nVidia 3D Vision Kit without issue.
I'm using a 120hz CRT monitor (NEC Multisync FP2141SB).
Steps to get the CRT up and running:
1. Create a custom EDID for the NEC to enable 120hz scan rate at desired resolution (e.g. 1280x720 for 720p).
2. Update the driver for the NEC using the custom EDID and reboot, then set the monitor to 120hz and primary if not already.
3. Enable stereoscopic (go thru setup wizard) and tell the nVidia driver you are using a 120hz CRT.
Steps to get the PS3 up and running:
1. Connect the VESA sync cable from the Moome to the nVidia emitter using the provided cables.
2. Tell the nVidia driver you are using a DLP TV.
3. Run the 3D testing program (where it shows the Nvidia logo spinning around on the primary display).
It should display a message saying something like "Cannot find VESA sync".
4. Turn your PS3 on and boot a 3D enabled game, like Super Stardust HD.
5. The "Cannot find VESA sync" message on the 3D testing program should disappear, and the glasses should sync correctly.
I've tested with Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD.
*Also please note that my CRT is connected directly to my nVidia GTX 580 using DVI -> VGA cable.
The PS3 is connected to the Moome via HDMI cable, which is also connected to my CRT (it has 2 switchable VGA inputs).
A direct connection to the CRT should not be necessary if you only plan to use Moome with PS3;
however, the 3D Vision emitter must be connected to your PC via USB and you need a nVidia graphics card.

good to hear that it works, for all the guys coming from Europe there is a tiny problem for 3d vision plug & play: VESA cable is only provided only with quadro cards, for the rest u have to diy. Perhaps u can answer following question: when u connect the VESA connector to the Moome VESA adapter are the signals directed one to one, that means tip to tip, ring to ring and sleeve to sleeve, or how are they connected? Could u check this, this would be a great help!

Hi prover:
I just tested using a continuity tester. It is NOT straight wired.
Nvidia emitter side <---> VESA adaptor <---> MOOME EXT3 Side
Nvidia Sleeve <-> Pin 1 VESA <-> Moome Sleeve
Nvidia Ring <-> Pin 2 VESA <-> Moome Tip
Nvidia Tip <-> Pin 3 VESA <-> Moome Ring
VESA adaptor (looking into the male plug side)
| Code: |
Pin 3
Pin 2 Pin 1
Plastic plug
|
So in other words, the Ring and Tip should be swapped.
Probably, you could use just a straight 2.5mm to 3.5mm male cable
with ring and tip swapped, no need for VESA adaptor.
Hope this helps your cable wiring.

Hi alamone,
I have run a test with my PS3 in the same way u desribed in your post and yes it worked, but not really
perfect. I have loaded Pacific 3D Rift and can see the stereoscopic content but I also have a bad periodic
flicker on the screen. I am not sure where it comes from... In the meantime I have order an universal emitter from
3dmagic as recommended by Moome, I have to see if this works better...

Hi everybody!
yesterday I got the universal emitter (Gen2) with some X-type glasses for usage with the
EXT V3 box. I have tried 3D-playback for PS3 with 3D-game and HTPC with 3D-bluray.
Everything worked fine (plug'n play) without any problems. The emitter can drive almost all
infrared glasses (have to change the protocol) that u can get at the market right now.
I must say if I knew how difficult the setup for Nvidia 3dvision could get I would have chosen
the universal emitter solution from the beginning...

I only saw it with glasses.
thx

Hmm.. u r right, I wasn't aware of this because I wanted also to try out these X-type glasses.
In your case I would write to Mr. Stark (mstarks3d@yahoo.com), I am sure he will sell the Gen2 emitter separately.

@Moome: Is it right that the new Ext3 does not support 1080p@72Hz ?

I'm not sure if I understand it right.
The new moome supports 1080p120 hz for 3d applications?
Does it also supports 2560*1576 @ 60 for example?
Will the ps3 also supply 720p120hz for 3d?
With an Gen2 universal transmitter, which brands glasses give good results?
What is the bandwith on this device?

EXT V3 supports max. 720p@120Hz for 3D.
Here is a short list of all supported modes:
PC mode
640X480 60HZ 72HZ 75HZ 85HZ
800X600 56HZ 60HZ 72HZ 75HZ 85HZ
1024X768 43HZ 60HZ 70HZ 75HZ 85HZ
1152X864 60HZ 70HZ 75HZ 85HZ
1280X1024 43HZ 60HZ 75HZ 85HZ
1600X1200 48HZ 60HZ
1440X960 43HZ 60HZ 72HZ
HDTV mode
480P 60HZ
576P 50HZ
720P 50HZ 59HZ 60Hz 120Hz
1080I 29HZ 30HZ 50HZ 59HZ 60HZ 96HZ*1 120Hz
1080P
50HZ 59HZ 60Hz 24HZ*2 25HZ*2 29.9HZ*2
30HZ*2
1035I 30HZ
3D mode
720P 100Hz, 120Hz
640X480 100Hz, 120Hz
800X600 100Hz, 120Hz
1024X768 100Hz, 120Hz
PS3 supplies 720@120Hz for 3D games, for 3D-bluray PS3 will provide 1080p.
I have tried nvidia 3d vision with Gen2, the result is from my point of view
very good. Some guys swear on the Xpand glasses but I don't know if someone
has tried this combination.

Does the Gen2 emitter plug directly into Moome's card? Is there a link to purchase the emitter? Thanks!

Hi guys, I want to build a HTPC for my VPH 1292, obviously I would also like to see bluray 3D. I read that there are problems with the nvidia kit.
What 's the most reliable and economical configuration? Can I avoid buying the 'EXT V3?
