|
|
Using an HDFury2 connected to a RPTV (Toshiba 56H80) for about a year and I swapped out desktop running an ATI Radeon HD 4350 with a MacBook Pro running an Nvidia GeForce GT 330M and have so far observed three annoyances with the 330M:
HDMI handshaking occurs on these events:
- media player launches
- media player goes from windowed to fullscreen
- media player goes from fullscreen to windowed
Nvidia control panel overscan adjustments change the h resolution from 1920 to around 1776 and still don't seem to show as much as the 4350, even though I can see all four corner Nvidia set-up arrows during adjustment.
Blacks seem more grey-ish, milky, washed out (you get the picture) even when switching Nvidia luminance range from 0-255 to 16-235.
Of the three annoyances, the HDMI handshaking is the worst -- is there any way to just get that under control? Or are Nvidia GPUs just not suited for this type of setup?
(running Windows 7 x64)[/list]

So far I've only tried MPC-HC, VLC and TMT3. All do the HDMI handshake with Nvidia, which ATI never did.
