I was wondering why everything hdfury related was removed from the site? I didn't see any announcements or discussion about it. Did something happen between the creator of hd fury and this site?

At this moment CurtPalme.com is not listing HDfury products for the manufacturer as you have noticed.

Hmmm - the forums content is gone, too?

At this moment CurtPalme.com is not listing any HDfury content at all for the manufacturer.

I noticed this on the weekend as well and it would seem everyone is pretty well tight lipped about the situation. Fortunately, I no longer own any Fury products but I think it would be helpful if the guys explained to those that might have some current performance or warranty issues with their Fury products since they have been kind of left hanging here.

I was planning on buying an HD Fury 3 for Christmas. Do I wait? Do I buy from another retailer? Is there something else that would work for my Sony D50? I don't want to have to run HDMI cables from my sources to my projector.

Check the products page for the new Moome ExtHDV3 converter. There are also similar units from the same manufacturer specifically designed for projectors.

You can order HDfury from resellers/distributors listed on HDfury.com reseller/distributor page.
If you are living in US/CA you can buy from Monoprice.com and Sewell.com til the 15dec.
We don't know yet if you will still be able to purchase from an US/CA distributor after this date.
Buying converter in the US/CA from a US/CA source will be a very difficult and risky purchase. Please consider buying oversea in the future for ANY kind of such converter, for your own safety.
You can still buy from the Taiwan manufacturer directly, order page will be fully functionnal on HDfury.com pretty soon.
As well as manuals, support, etc..
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Full disclosure and explanation will be posted later on HDfury.com, no need to ask for the moment, please.

Hmm, "very difficult and risky purchase"? "for your own safety"? I dunno, but sounds like pretty ominous words to me.
Maybe I am totally off the mark here but in attempting to "connect the dots", either the "mob" has threatened to take over the business or the more likely scenario is that the HDCP Hollywood lawyers have made their move and considering how fast this has happened, it looks like they have done it with great "alacrity". Assuming my assessment is correct, I can't help but think Moome may be next on the list.
In the next few days, I had tentatively planned on placing a pre-order for the new Moome V3 converter, however, until we get a more definitive answer from all parties concerned here, I think I will be holding off on that order.

Do we need to worry about them confiscating the customer records and the hdcp police showing up at our doors?

Just wondering why you think one should not worry about Moome's stuff? Other than a couple of feature differences, the concept and purpose of the EXT HD V2 and forthcoming V3 are pretty much identical to the Fury3.
I have owned both and there doesn't seem to be much difference to me.

So far it's a US/CA issue only. You can then purchase outside US/CA if you are living in US/CA, it's way more secure.
Or you can purchase from US/CA before 15dec, after this date, no one knows if there will be stock available from within the country.
If you are living outside US/CA, no problem at all.
Digital to Digital is even more risky.

Mike | the Moome internal card is great and works in most D50's (some didn't have the expansion slot for some reason). Card can be swapped into a G70 or G90 at any time as well.

I have owned both and there doesn't seem to be much difference to me. | the internal cards are exempt because they cannot be used to transcode video to an external device. In other words once the signal is in the RGB domain it can only go to the tubes, not to some copying device. in that regard a Moome internal card is no different than an HDMI input on any new projector.

The thing that gets me is even if you have HDCP compliant devises there is no guarantee they will work correctly.
I need my MUX-HD because my TV-One scalers that are suppose to be HDCP enabled with the keys and all don't work right.
So i have to resort to using the MUX. HDCP and HDMI suck, totally 100% SUCK!!!!!

Athanasios | yes and I don't get it. It's not like your going to burn BD 1080P to a standard DVD, it wouldn't fit AFAIK.
So if your pirating BD discs your using a Personal computer with bootleg software to do it and burning to blank BD discs which cost as much as a BD movie itself. None of it makes any sense, an external HDMI transcoder is useless in skirting HDCP.
The only thing it's good for is keeping older display devices useable. Maybe that's the real goal, force everyone ot go out and buy a new projector or Television.
