Was watching a show and the picture just dropped out, left with a blank screen.

MY chain is PVR,Bluray > DVDO VP30 > HDMI > HD Fury2 >808s

After checking cables, hd fury etc i bypassed the dvdo and got the picture back which was a huge relief
as i was starting to think it might be the projector.

Is there anyone that is familiar with the dvdos and could possibly pinpoint the problem?

What could be wrong with processor? and how can i fix it?
Its running the latest firmware version 1.14

EDIT: An unusual part of this is that it will still display the menus????? so i gather from that the processor is
actually outputting a signal but nothing else other than menus.

I had the same problem a little over a year ago. I contacted Anchor Bay, who recommended a reset to the default settings. Yes, it was a pain to record all the settings first and put them back in later, but their solution worked and the problem has not recurred.

They also recommend having the latest firmware update.

Hope this helps...

and thanks for answering my call for help, believe me it is hugely appreciated.

In my searches i came across an email address for an anchor bay tech so im waiting to hear back from him.
in the meantime i will try the reset. And the processor is running the latest firmware so im good there.

In my experience, Anchor Bay has given pretty good customer service so I'm sure they will reply soon.

Good luck with it.

Don't know if you fixed this yet but I had the same problem with my VP-30 and it turned out that the power supply was putting out less than it needed to. A replacement power suppy from Anchor Bay took care of the problem.

I agree on the power supply. Some of the early VP30 ones failed early, but last I checked, replacements were only $35 or so.

When it happened to me, it was after having had to replace the power supply for the same problem that BlueSky had
