Does anyone tweak on xgs ? There lots of barco ,sony and mar but no nec tweak pages. I myself would be willing to try different lens or different cards, or tubs . My nec need a green tub replaced anyway.

not really. they come with excellent magnetics, crt's, and lenses so no upgrades unlike most of the others. The Moome HDMI card is available from curt but the RGBHV input is very good with a good video processor.

I'm running mine thru a computer and using a radeon 5570 and a blue ray player. Being my first crt I was really blown away by the quality of the picture, and color .The first movie I played was avatar. I was just in ahhh.Avideo junky getting a strong fix.lolo
I have heard of Hi -rez tubes you can put in other crts. Curt was talking about p16lugs in one of his threads .Me ,I'm always willing to try something . My self I would really like to think Curt for his wealth of info. on his web site . theres no way I could of got this up and running with out It .

I not 100% sure but I think the lugs are not thin necked which the Sony g70 and NEC xg's need. Also they are around $1000 each and will not offer that much improvement from the stock tubes, actually the lug's are less bright and the XG75 really can't handle 1080p that well anyway. further the XG75 is not LC, LC would be a bigger improvement. Also most likely all three tubes would need to be replaced to take advantage of most of the tube face for best resolution . Their really is not any upgrade from the stock chassis to swap out like on nearly every other 8" EM CRT projector. High hour units can benefit from some recapping and calibration. I think your best bet is to use the projector as is and start looking for a lower hour XG or new tube from VDC.

"lense coupled"?
do you mean air coupled? if so they just look on internet for any xg75x. They did not make a Liquid coupled xg75x and as far as I know the mounting was the same between all air coupled XG versions. What lenses do you have hd144/145's is what 99% of them came with.

I've done it twice.
It's not easy.
Apart from tubes and lenses you need brackets.
It's easier to get an LC chassis (the electronics are different to a 750 too), and strip and swap the bare tubes if need be.

Hum .........sounds like a toltal rebuild ! Well I know I defenently need a need green tube and doing this convergence by hand is driving me bonkers , for some reason It does'nt want to stay converged . according to the service bulletin that curt has posted mine (nec xg 751 (A) should be compatable with pc software but the serial no . 2100317 EA hmmm... so I'm guessing that Its not ?
Does any one Know If I bought a 6020 switcher and tryed running a computer through the switcher ,would work?
