I am evaluating the CalMan software before purchasing and am running into issues.
I downloaded and installed the HTPC pattern generator and the Calman SW version 3.6.2
After both SW are installed, I manually started the htpc pattern generator.
I then started the CalMAN software.
At the welcome screen, I selected the "Advanced" radio button
At the Select Meter screen, only the simulated calMAN meter is available - I can understand that
At the select Test Pattern Source, the only option availavle is the "optical player or video generator (manual control)"
Step 3 for the help suggest that the IP address is used to select the htpc where the pattern generator is running.
Other stpes suggest external player to select "auto" etc.

There are 6 options under the Select Test Pattern source but 2 to 5 are blank. Twisted Evil
Are these options not available for the trial?
I thought this trial was fully functional, except no calibration may b eperformed.

My goal was to run a few simulated runs to get a handle on the procedures before purchasing.

Can anybody help Question

AFAIK, the trial version doesn't run any kind of external pattern generator including CalMAN's own (with a virtual "meter" that doesn't actually take physical readings, there wouldn't be any point, would there?). It produces its "readings" internally without displaying any test patterns, and is more an interactive demo than a limited-functionality app. It allows you to see how the process works, what charts are displayed, and what the charts show as readings are done. There is a limited subset of settings you can manipulate to see how things change, but that's about it.

Recently there were posts on the CalMAN forum about how to get CalMAN and its pattern generator app running on the same machine (the original intent was for CalMAN and the pattern generator to run on different laptops on the same network, hence the use of an IP number). To run them on the same computer, port settings as well as IP settings have to be made.
