Because Kal hot-linked to usage graphs that require admin priveliges to view. Two graphs, two login dialogs. Just hit cancel and it should go away.

ok but should everyone see it? If I use the back button in my browser it pops up, then I just hit cancel twice and it goes away.
EDIT: My mistake if I used the page back at the bottom button Page1234 click page 3 the box comes up>

Kal must have been busy making beer or having a life or something, so I edited his post so the login dialog wouldn't appear. You can all rest easy, now.

Thanks SC! Didn't realize that only I (admin) could see the graphs. I fixed it:

Wow, that is amazing, Kal.
This one really blows my mind:
kal wrote: | Average Pages per Day: 38168 (max: 53091) |
That's 2.26 pages/second, all day long. Actually, that's an average, so it's much less than that in the middle of the night, and much, much more than that during the busy part of the day in US/Canada, I'd imagine. Probably 3-4 pages/second. |
Correct - in the middle of the day (North American time) the visits is about twice as high. Here's the graph for how access looks over the day:
Here's a per day usage over the month of January 2010:
I sent 3 newsletters out to our 20K subscribers in the month of January. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out which 3 days this was.
Quote: | kal wrote: | Average Visits per Day: 6103 (max: 10298) |
Wow.
kal wrote: | Average Bandwidth per Day: 12,9 Gbytes (max: 19.5 Gbytes) |
Ouch! 12 GIGS/day!?!?!?!! Wow. |
Still a drop in the bucket compared to some sites! The fact that dedicated servers at our hosting company (atcihosting.com) start at 1500gig/month is a sign of the type of traffic that's expected by some sites.
Check out the top 10 files downloaded (see below) - some are common forum files, but some are CRT projector manuals that were downloaded hundreds of times in a one month period! Some people must simply load it directly from our site every time they want to read it!
Code: | # Hits KBytes URL
1 440444 43565291 /forum/viewtopic.php
2 132044 14214467 /forum/viewforum.php
3 183 8695246 /docs/BarcoData801_Service.zip
4 114725 8365859 /forum/
5 1799 8095380 /docs/HCFR_Setup_v2_0_1.exe
6 543 7813326 /docs/BarcoData801s_User.pdf
7 608 4463939 /docs/Sony1272_Service.pdf
8 166 3827429 /docs/Sony1271_Service.zip
9 278 3360713 /docs/Sony1041_1042_Service.pdf
10 1418 3266608 /docs/ElectrohomeMarquee8500_User.pdf |
Either that, or there's ton of hot-linking going on from other sites but google searches of these documents only come up with our site so I doubt it.
For example, the Sony 1272 service manual was downloaded 608 times in January. That's almost once an hour all month! The Marquee 8500 user manual was downloaded twice an hour!
The first two are the main forum files that show topics and forum listings.
The HCFR setup document is from my greyscale guide. I host the software here for people to download since I wrote the guide for one specific version of the software and I want the guide to be 100% standalone. Nice to see that it was downloaded 1800 times (58 times/day) over the month of January. People are reading my guide it seems! It's been viewed over 300,000 times in just under 2 years.

I got a "couldn't connect to the database" earlier today, too... But, all evening tonight, the forum has been running like a bat outta hell! I mean, page loads are super-fast, no delays with graphics... it's just sailing along like nothing. So, what's the big difference between tonight and two nights ago? Is there a huge difference in total number of users on the site between, say Tuesday night and tonight?

Spent about an hour like this:
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
