Title pretty much says it all.

This is the Lumagen Vision HDP scaler with two DVI inputs, two s-video inputs, two component inputs and a single DVI output.

The DVI output can be either digital or analog depending on the input signal. It will de-interlace 1080i HD, and is also capable of 72Hz output. There are many, many, many other things you can do with this, but I didn't use much of the other features.

The absolute best thing this scaler does is it has 11 point gamma correction on each of the R, G and B outputs. What this means is you can set a dead flat gray scale even on a crt projector, from 0 to 100 IRE. I have actually done this with this scaler and it looked really good. Another thing you can do with the customizable gamma is increase your shadow detail without ruining the full fade to black.

Please email me or PM me if you have any questions or would like any pictures etc.

I'm asking $450. OBO, plus actual cost of shipping...

Thanks, Paul.

I haven't gotten a single email or PM about this, are scalers simply dead ? Is it the economy ? Price ? If its price, its Or Best Offer, so don't be afraid to send an offer...

Honestly, scalers are on the downslide, but also your price. The DVDO scalers pretty much own the lower price market now and Lumagen has moved upscale. The HDP is now selling for $400 or less. Do some searching.

I'll give you some very recent ebay examples:
HDP with dual SDI input sold for $453.
VisionPro HDP sold for $475 shipped.

Frankly, plain old HDPs are $400 or less these days. Sucks, huh? Don't shoot the messenger. Smile

I still think its worth more just for getting the 11 point gamma control which CRT's Crave, add into it the CMS controls they just added , even though its not as fully implemented like in the radiance its still a strong performer in my book and if you have a Quee and want to run 800p @72 the need for being able to adjust the timing to get the >1us sync timing is key.

Id say 600 is a better price 450 is way to low for such a nice pice of gear.

Hey, it is what the market will bear. Seriously, I didn't make those prices up, go search closed listings on ebay. Both of the ones I listed are more "valuable" than a plain HDP. Heck, the VisionPro I listed was BIN for $475 free shipping! So, how are you going to get $600 for an HDP when the pro version of it (which cost $1000 more new) is only $475?!?!?!?

I do appreciate the input, shooting the messenger is not my style, thanks very much for letting me know where the value of these has gone, I can't say its completely unexpected.

So from what I have read here this will do custom resolutions, and has great gamma correction. Would it work with one of the Moome HDMI cards if I used an adapter? Do you have any links on it? Oh, and why are you getting rid of it? Did you upgrade? I've spoken with Craig about what he could do with my setup and he mentioned doing an 819p (or there abouts) custom resolution with a Lumagen scaler. He gave praise to the radiance but did mention an earlier one which I can not recall the exact name. So, that's why i'm thowing so many questions at you. Very Happy

It will do any custom resolution, via HDMI you can send for scope movies (blu ray) 800p@72 to the Moome HDMI Card(not Mike Parker) I used it this way till I went to a blend. the 11 point gamma correction is awesome and they also added Color management like the radiance except for the secondaries. so its a greta processor for 450 bucks. If i had the extra scratch id buy it in a heart beat.

I stand corrected. Moome not Mike Parker. I'm bad with mixing up names. This sounds like what I would need though...
Alas, it is thanksgiving and i'm off to a camping trip. Elaine, if someone doesn't grab it by the time I return, I'll make an inquiry with Craig and get back to you on this.

Except for the secondaries? so it has management controls for the primaries red, green and blue but not cyan, magenta and yellow? My guess is this does not matter much since a calibrator would most probably get the color calibrated with the projector's settings and controls and leave the scaler controls untouched. That's my hunch anyway. I'll talk to Craig. The last time I spoke with him I made the mistake of not having paper and pen handy. My head was spinning with all the info he laid on me!

Craig is an expert with the Lumagens, it is he who got me to buy my first one for my Mitsu RPTV. its so good he does not use the Tv's controls at all, just the Lumagen. But for CRT FPTV he uses the Pj's controls.

I have the same unit and in the theater i was using the HDQ. I still want to put it into my system but havn't had the time. making two VP's work together is not plug and play.

Sorry to say, I don't really know all that much about it. I'm selling it for a friend who's going in a different direction...

I do know, from experience, the gamma correction is superb. You can use it to get a ruler flat gray scale, and increase the shadow detail on a crt projector without sacrificing absolute black.

I will not guarantee compatibility with any Moome product, simply because my *personal* experience with Moome products has been less successful than what many people post about. I have a Moome device for sale too, BTW.

Here is a link to the Lumagen website: http://www.lumagen.com/testindex.php?module=hdp_details

The one I have for sale doesn't have the optional RGBHV BNC outputs. Thanks.

Any other questions please feel free to ask.

The RGBHV outputs do not matter as you can set the DVI to be RGBHV.

Superb, thanks so much, I assume you're posting because you want to make me an offer ?? Otherwise, I'm not too sure at the purpose of your post, especially considering the forum has a PM function where you can reach any member with a simple click, but thanks so much...
