A mate of mine has a VPH600QM that is showing the 'fungus' problem where the glycol is dissolving the aluminium housing and depositing it onto the glass envelope.
It is the green tube that has that problem.
He plans on following the instructions here on Curt's site to clean the tube but doesn't want to have to rush it or go without use of the projector until he cleans the tube.
I have a VPH1020QM that has a problem where the blue tube won't light up properly, it appears that the electron beam is not being scanned across the phosphor but is being pushed up towards the anode lead, probably a failure in the drive circuit for the deflection yoke or a failed deflection yoke.
It is probably not worth fixing the VPH1020QM.
The red and green tubes are working fine.
I would like to know if the tubes from the VPH1020QM will work in the VPH600QM, I think they are both using SD130 tubes but I'm too lazy to open up the VPH1020QM to check.
If the tubes are compatible can they be swapped over without changing the magnetics (deflection yoke and spot adjustment rings) or would I need to change the magnetics over as well?
Also are any of the circuit boards from the VPH1020QM compatible with the VPH600QM?

Hi
Its been a while but I am pretty sure I changed the sd 130 tubes out of a 1030 and put sd 187 tubes in there place and they worked great, alot brighter so I dont think you would have a problem with the models you have.
Cheers

SD 130 tubes are rated at 450 lumens, Sd 187 are rated at 600. you can mix and match, or swap out entirely, use the original yokes, only swap over the tubes.
