http://www.answers.com/topic/front-projection-tv
I use a little applet from "answers.com" that lets me "alt-click" on any word or word combinations. It then pops up a little window with extra information on the subject. Great as a spellchecker/thesaurus/encyclopedia/etc. I was surprised however that when I alt-clicked on the word combo "front projection TV" while sitting in my basement I see a picture of my own basement.

Front Projection with CRTs
The first projectors, both front and rear, used CRTs, and although mostly abandoned, they continue to provide excellent quality. In 2000, this home theater was built by a serious video enthusiast, who enjoys tweaking the system and sees no urgency in replacing the CRTs as of 2009. He is the author of a very informative article on video calibration at www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10457. (Images courtesy of Kal of CurtPalme.com) |
I came across it when I Googled "http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10457". This is the link to my Greyscale guide. I was just curious how far and wide it had gotten... seems that it's really out there now. It's linked to 642 times by various sites. Everything from Kijiji to Amazon reviews, to photography blogs, you name it. More visitors for us here is a good thing!

Kal,
It's beautiful setup and the pix taken of it are nicely done as well.
If it wasn't in AV Interiors... It should have been or it could be.
I know it inspired a lot of people including me.

I totally agree. Those were the first pictures of this hooby I saw and was like "boo-yeah!"
Everyone I talk to bitches and complains how big they are, but hello DUH, it's hanging from your theatre roof, who cares? That looks so cool. I wish I had a dedicated theatre.

That's so cool Kal. Some recognition of a job that means a lot to you, is always a fine reward.
