I inherited a couple of turntables from my (audiophile) grandfather (who, incidentally, also had a great tube amp and Mirage speakers, which a certain relative sold to an audio store for next to nothing without asking anyone... MURDER), and I'm trying to figure out what to do with them (keep? sell to finance home theater improvements? sell one?). So I figured I'd ask what they are and if there's any useful info about them, since I know next-to-nothing about turntables.

One of them is a Lenco L75; the other is a B&O Beogram - I'm pretty sure it's a 3000, but I've forgotten and I didn't have time to pull all 5,000 metric tons of it off the shelf to check the model number.

They're both in very good condition, aside from the lids - the L75's lid is cracked and the hinges are broken. The B&O's is probably scuffed some, but I think it's functional.

They've both got cartridges, but I wouldn't bet on them being in good shape given that the tables have been moved quite a bit in the last few years.

Any advice? It's appreciated!

I think both are fairly decent, but I don't think that either are considered collector's items. I personally don't go for the audiofool turntables, I love Technics, have since I bought my first one while in high school, but check audiogonn and ebay for potential value.

I have a B&O Beogram 1800. It doesn't get used much, I keep it more because I love the design and the way it is put together. Just a very pretty, well designed piece of equipment IMO. Doesn't look like the 3000 is quite as pretty though (IMO of course Wink )
