Strange. Something doesn't sound right. I'm sure Kim of Crescendo-Systems will chime in and work you through possible ideas to get it working right. It should be completely plug and play however.

My guess is that you cannot see the action of the gamma? If I can ask what display are you using and is it calibrated correctly? Basically on a badly calibrated display you will not see any result from the gamma. Also, what picture material are you using?

Is the gamma pot a multi-turn pot Kim? (like 20-30?) Maybe he isn't turning it enough.

What Kim mentions is right though: If say you're brightness level is so low that you're completely crushing blacks (blacks are completely lost), no amount of gamma adjustment will bring them back.

Kal,

Yes the gamma is the same 20 turn multi-turn pot as in the RTC2200 and the TC1600. At shipping it is set to just off and to increase the gamma you have to turn it clockwise, you may to start noticing a diffence after 5 full turns or so.

5 full turn? heu, what that 20 30 thing Confused A pot that you turn many many time? I thought it was broke multi-steps pot...

Still, my modified Marque 8000 and 21inch computer crts are whell calibrated. I use that nokia software and the patern test on a Motorola rcvr (dsr-505)

How has my old Marquee been working for you? Hope it hasn't had any major problems.

It still work fine. I did some soldering of the RGB miniRCA plugs on the VIM. Your VIM was better then mine, it worth it. Now with a good VIM board and a BUFF 2000 I can enjoy my pj without cranking the brightness way up. I'm running it at bright 32 & contrast 42 Cool

Glad to hear it has been working good for you. I wonder why the mini RCA connectors are so troublesome, I resoldered those just a few weeks before I sold it to you?

Anyway I'm glad you're happy with it. Very Happy
