Hey guys!

I'm creating a ranking system here. Completely meaningless, but still fun. The more you post, the higher your rank. I'm trying to think of a CRT related ranking system, for example:

Rank: 7" ES video
Posts: 0-99

Rank: 8" ES data
Posts: 100-499

Rank: 8" EM graphics
Posts: 500-999

Rank: 9" EM LC graphics
Posts: 1000-1999

Rank: 9" EM LC stack!

Problem is, I don't want it to be too confusing. Newbies won't understand this, and others may think it means that that's the sort of projector the user has.

Any ideas? Maybe just some regular ranking names would be better? Any ideas on names to use for the 5 levels?

As well, any thoughts on the number of posts I listed above? Make sense?

Kal

GEBrown: Interesting! I like where you're going... maybe we can refine it a bit. Any other ideas guys?

Confusing. Demeaning. No value added. Plus, several of us have demonstrated that a high-post count means diddly.

I'd rather see that space used to identify the actual projector that each member has.

Good point. Screw it. Better to use the space for a user controlled message of some sort. I'll see if there's any mods for that.

... Though some might consider you posting what PJ you have as demeaning to others as well. Very Happy

If you come across any mods for this, lemme know!

The str idea is used on other forums and does serve some use.....

Sense of achievment maybe?

Newbie - always seems to be first one - and fair BUT maybe "forum newbie" is a better description.....

I did not like "Senior member" on ET,

"Cool dude" was good

to be honest , if you did this I would rather not know what they are going to be, and find out when I got there.......

PJ related I dont think is right......

Just abstract words I feel better........

That way you could have a number of them.......

You PJ can always be in your signature........
