I had a chance to run the BUF2000 as follows last night:
Samsung DTB-H260F ATS tuner w/HDMI out-----HDFury1|BUF2000--F/FVGA converter--6 foot hard wired VGA cable on Samsun 753DF 17" CRT montor.
ATSC box set to 1080i.
I did some screen shots with and without gamma. By chance Sun TV was playing Bikini Destinations.

Hi Kim, any update on this? Did you go to production with it or are you still in the testing phases?

All,
The BUF2000 will go into production and should be available early in January. Let me recap the features:
1) RGB and Component amplifier/cable driver with variable gamma in RGB mode only
2) Bandwidth 130MHz+
3) Various sync modes:
- Positive or negative horizontal sync
- Positive or negative vertical sync
- Positive or negative composite sync on H
- Native horizontal sync (passthrough of H input)
- Sync on green
- Fully variable horizontal sync width (usefull for Barco users)
The price for the BUF2000 is expected to be $89

Ahh good news! Say Kim, how is the horizontal width going to be adjustable? Is it a switch or a tuning pot?

The sync width (not the width of the picture) is changed through a potmeter.

Cool. I really need to test your BUF2000 at 1600x1200 at 103Hz and see if it can keep up. Just as soon as I finish arguing with the re-spin of my HTPC.
Do you think it can handle a refresh like that?

Hi Kim,
I have a Marquee user with an 8500 in Europe that is having too wide porch issues at 1080i?
Here's a quote from his email:

"Hi I have HDFury1 with RGBHV cable without video processor.I have samsung BD 2500 blu-ray player with reon processor.Yesterday I play a dvd with this player (always to 1080i) and the image was long 3/4 of the screen! With a blu ray the image to 1080i is too much long, with dvd it is too much short! |
Would the Buf2000 help him in this situation?

Ok Kim, thanks for the clarification. Where would you need this feature usually?
