Hey all,

My brother picked up this 65" mitsu for just $150, but it has the standard "bowtie" convergence problem and quite a lot of overscan (like way too much). I've found replacement convergence ICs but first I want to try reflowing the IC solder connections to see if that fixes the problem. I also need to get into the service menus to fix the overscan, does anyone have the service manual or know the way to get into the service menus?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Hey, sorry I should have updated earlier. I got a s/manual off ebay for $5 and we reflowed the solder on the convergence IC's, that seems to have done the trick for now.

Thanks!
Ben

If I recall it's some of the following

Menu on the set then:
1257 or 1258
2257 or 2258
2387 or 2358
on the remote. When you get the correct code there will be a box in the top left corner of the screen but I forget what is in the box. Be careful with the over scan in the vertical direction I think if you go too much it causes a problem.

When doing convergence use the number keys 2, 4, 6, 8 to adjust the lines. I think the volume changes the color. Whatever source you have selected will be the adjustment you are doing.

I'm getting old and its been a long time since I've done this but I hope it helps you.

Walt
