On my way to visit Andres and get his blend smoking! What a journey, 10 hours since I've left the house, and I'm just in Hong Kong. Another 3 hour wait here for the next leg of my trip.

Will post pictures as we make progress so long as Andres says it's ok.

Sweet, they share region A for blu-ray's, just found The Warlords http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=1280&show=review

Awesome, picked it up for much cheaper than cost to import.

I hope the mods work out ok for Andres ! Cant wait to hear if you both think there is any difference of my version of the KBK(Ken Hotte) mod to a Stock CLM.He and I think it helps out .

Hi Guys,

I am picking up Gino at the airport in about 3 hours.

Sure, we'll post pics and impressions as we make progress. There have been many equipment improvements since Gino's last visit:

- HD10F lenses (vs. GT17s)
- Frankenyokes
- Mikron 02P VIMs and necks.
- Moome HDMI card w/ gamma

Beside this, the screen is tensioned, projectors ceiling mounted and generally the HT room is not a rat's nest as it was last time... I also bought (heresy!) a Panasonic AE2000 projector which I sent to Germany for modding and it's pretty nice (for being a digital PJ). This would surely help doing geometric setup.

On the audio side we'll play with the Genelecs in the HT room and with the Slimdevices Transporter connected to the Linkwitz Orion speakers.

In addition, I am very eager to plug in the new CLMs!

rgs - Andres

Wow! What a long ass journey. 30 hours later and I'm finally here. Had a great bbq pizza out in the sun, beautiful weather! But, unfortunately, my eyes just can't take it any longer, can't keep them open anymore, time for a siesta.

We'll start the blending tonight!

Tubes pulled down... Unfortunately, the ceiling mount was too well constructed to make sure nothing fell down, so it made it very difficult for us to move the chassis, but we did it after 2 stressful hours, which included one of the projectors nearly falling down with the tubes still present! Shocked

Had to silicone the leak, so looks like we will be working on this projector tomorrow.

What next? Another problem... HV arc... think it might have taken out his cat?

7 hours later, we have done a very nice job on full mechanical setup of one 9500. This is me converging on top of his digital pj... at least they are good for something!

Finally, one CRT down, another to go tomorrow. This one is dialled in very nicely, just need to do grey scale calibration then tweak convergence. We have this singing at 1080p72, contrast 75, tightly focussed corner to corner, and zero banding! Andres has never seen his 9500 look so good. We watched just the right side of some demo clips for an hour without any audio, just marvellling at a job well done.

The CLMs are in spanish customs Hope they ake it to you before you leave, usually takes a day or so in customs.
