My poor Pentium D 805 is totally unable to run DVDs realtime with Avisynth LimitedSharpenFaster. But the results are so fantastic (pic from my other thread:

)

...that I'm considering trying to preprocess DVDs before playing them. I've dug around quite a bit on google, but the tools seem to be really obtuse, and tend to not work (ie, dvd2avi will only spit out horrifically ugly AVIs, and crashes reliably with any good encoders).

Does anybody know how to yank a DVD to an AVI, including AC3 sound, and shove it through Avisynth? Ideally there'd be a way I could do this in a fairly automated way - stick DVD in, wait 5 hours Wink , play result in Zoomplayer.

Any help appreciated! Now that I know how good I can make stuff look (Damn you, core2quad at work! Daaamn you!) I'm itching to make this work...
