Hi!

I remember a few years ago that everyone was saying, if you want the best playback of DVD's and SD video from your PC, you needed to get FFDshow to scale it up, sharpen it, gamma correct it, deinterlace it, etc., etc.

Is that still the case, or has playback software/hardware progressed far enough that this is no longer necessary?

Also, which cards have better video playback features (not in terms of acceleration but in terms of video quality), ATI or NVIDIA?
