Can we get a button that allows us to block out the threads that we aren't interested in so we don't have to weed thru them? I suppose I could just ignore the thread, but it might be nice to have them not come up in the index as they get refreshed.

I've never seen a forum implement this sort of feature. Got any examples?

Not really, I just thought if it were an easy thing to do it might be useful to some people. I know personally I get tired of seeing some of the rants going on here.

Definitely not an easy thing to do as you'd need to:

1. Add a button to a thread so that it could be ignored.
2. Create a new page that lists the threads that you're ignoring in case you ever wanted to "un-ignore"
3. Track a list of threads per user that someone's ignoring (so new database tables, etc).

Ugh... forget it. But thanks Kal for everything you do. Without you there would be no forum.

Yeah, no kidding. When Curt first put out the call for a webmaster, I considered signing up -- and trust me, you are VERY glad I didn't. Kal has done 100x the job I ever could have. When do you find the TIME, dude??

Time? What time? This web stuff is easy. You just point and click. The software writes itself! It gets done in no time at all!

(as overheard by one of the sales weasels in my company talking to a client recently...) Wink

Fatwallet.com implemented something like this on their forums. You can block the threads you aren't interested in so they won't normally show up, but if you log out or search for them, you can reach them. I'm sure they are running some forum software written exclusively for them.

Interesting. Seems like custom software like you said.

I agree that kal is an awesome webmaster. he goes above and beyond the call of duty for Curt, is ever vigilant, and always has information that is very useful.
