|
|
I just purchased a Barco 808s and I would like to mount it in the living room. The only problem is the vaulted celling. I am trying to mount the pj on the top of the vault, but I dont know what to do about the drop of the pj. The highest mount for the top of the screen is 86" and the top celling where the pj is to be mounted is 105".
Should I angle the screen to avoid over compensation of the key stone or just lower the pj? I want to do the unistrut install so I am not sure how much the unistrut will take up between the celling and the pj.
Its a mobile home so the vault is only 2 feet over the 14 feet of space.
Any ideas?
The pj can be as far back as 13' at the back of the pj
Thanks,
Adam[/img]
redoing the celling is the trade for the pj in the room

Lower the PJ.
You can look at pics of mine in my photo album. Mine is in a mobile home with the vaulted ceilings.

Do screens have vertical viewing areas?

If you've got the joist support overhead, a much cleaner and simpler solution would be to use a Peerless-type mount and have a piece of steel pipe cut and threaded to length. I'm sure the Barco guys on here could help you out with the part numbers for the upper and lower mounting plates. The pipe would only cost about $20 or $30 at the most from Home Depot.
Your ceiling slope is fairly tame, so if you've got the capability, you could always rip a short length of 4x4 to the matching angle to give yourself an upper mounting plate that is parallel with the floor and lag bolt that to your ceiling joists.
