current setup is htpc 1280x960@72hz via vga->rgbhv into input1 on my marquee8000.
bluray/hddvd/hdtv all go hdmi into a 5-port hdmi switch then nice belden 25' hdmi->dvi cable into powered hd-fury->rgbhv into input2 on the marquee8000.
would i see an improved pq from the htpc if i went vga->hdmi via converter-box then into the hdmi switch and out to the marquee via input2 ?
i dont use the bluray or hddvd players for scaling because there is just no comparison in pq between scaled sd dvd on them vs the htpc.
the htpc scaled sd discs look gorgeous while the scaled sd discs via bluray/hddvd look noisy and flat.
im just wondering if the analog 30' rgbhv runs are the weak link ?
the runs are rg-6quad silver-plated over copper with gold-plated compression bnc terminations at both ends then a vga->rgbhv breakout at the htpc.
thanks.

When you say converter box do you mean to transcode VGA analog to DVI digital or does your HTPC have a DVI output?
What I found with the DVI output was the colors are move saturated and vibrant. I've switched my RPTV (42" CRT ) to DVI form the ATi 9800 AIW HTPC from component and noticed the same thing. More vibrant colors. On the ohter hand I went back to RGBHV from the HTPC because it just works. Nice and easy. Plus I noticed a white cruch with the HDFury. It's slight but it's there.

i know there is going to be a/d then d/a conversion instead of no conversion just going htpc->pj but im wondering if keeping the signal digital for the 30'run will keep the signal integrity better than analog for 30'.
