I've just upgraded my onboard graphice to an Ati HD 2400 pci card, for hd dvd playback. I want to use 1080i as my resolution, and in the catalyst control panel there is an option to make this resolution available. I check it off, and I still can't find that rez in the available resoultions. I can't find a manual for this card, does anyone have any ideas?

You likely have to UNCHECK the box about using the EDID information, or whatever the terminology is that says for it to restrict the resolutions to ONLY those that your display says it can handle. There's a box in the control panel for this...

Ok, I found the box, and unchecked it. I still don't see 1980x1080i @30, I do see 1980x1080 @30. Is this 1080i or 1080p?
Thanx for the help.

If its at 30, its 1080i...1080p would be at 60...

However, being a computer, they might be doing 1080p at 30Hz refresh instead of "real" 1080i at 60Hz refresh..if that makes any sense ?
Electronically, 1920x1080 30Hz will look like 1920x1080i at 60Hz...
