I have a Sony 1031Q projector and am considering using a Faroudja LD200 line doubler. Will I need a sync processor to feed it with YpBpR signals?

I'm lost. I don't think the LD200 has component input, so where does the YPbPr come in?

And what are you using it for? It is pretty old.

The Faroudja has a VGA input. I know it's old, but it's cheap!

Sorry OP..I didn't mean to derail your thread. It looked like a good opening to crack a funny. Embarassed

I have a Focus Centerstage CS-2 scaler I'm getting ready to list here and on fleabay. It does a fair amount of transcoding, is good up to 1080i and has DVI and component in and out. It's HDCP compliant (switchable on and off) and is programmable for custom resolutions via free software from Focus. The VGA port is passthrough. That's the only bummer I had with it. I used it for the Original Xbox but it hasn't been used in quite some time since getting the 360.

I'm 'asking' ~$125.00 plus shipping. No remote came with it but the manual gives detailed instructions on using most any generic remote.

I'm not as technical as Dave (Person99) so not sure if it will be better for your application but as long as you don't expect 1080p out of it it might be a better alternative than the line doubler. (Actually it's advertised as being good to 1080p but nobody has ever had much luck pushing it that far).

Yes it is, but unless it is like $25, I don't know if I would bother. You can get an HDFury or similar for <$200 and a used DVD player that does much better than the LD200 for <$80.

I realize that this is overkill for your PJ, but given the way prices are falling for PJs, I would suspect you are going to upgrade the PJ in the near future. Wink
